6 days to go…Aarrghhhhhh!

I am feeling a mixture of excitement at crossing the finishing line on Sunday at my 1^st half marathon and also total fear that no one will be there by the time I cross the line! I can’t believe this is the week after registering for the half marathon on 26^th February.

I took things very easy last week.   I had run  12.66 miles on Sunday 3^rd July.   I had been warned at not to do this but despite this useful advice from previous half marathon runners  I still felt I needed to run a half marathon as part of my practice.  Well, I wish I had listened to the advice as it took nearly two days before my leg muscles had recovered!   Therefore I took things very e a s y last week and only did two easy runs on Saturday (3miles) and Sunday (4miles). 

This week I am going to step it up a little bit since I think last week was a bit too laid back!  Tonight I am joining Tayside Running Sister for a run.   They meet outside Douglas Sports Centre at 6.20 every Monday and on Wednesdays run alongside Riverside.   I am hoping some mixing with some fellow runners will help my motivation and training.   Speak to you tomorrow
